Happy Thursday!! First of all, thank you to Lakefront Brewery and all those who attended our BEER FOR BRAVERY Event on 5/22/16 to help raise funds for our 9/11 Tribute Events!! And thank you to the Marcus Center for hosting a “Hero Night” for a group of our service members to enjoy appetizers and beverages along with the performance of “The Accidental Hero”–what an incredible story!
We have many displays that will enhance our 9/11/16 STANDING FOR THE FALLEN 15th Anniversary Tribute, but we want you to know the “why” behind these displays, and also why we need assistance with funding to make these displays possible. Instead of telling you about ALL of them, we’ll start with one, where we need your help to make it happen: LIGHTS FOR THE FALLEN
LIGHTS FOR THE FALLEN: In honor of the 651 9/11 fallen firefighters, law enforcement officers, and military service members, we will place 651 floating memorial lights into a reflecting pool. Creating a scene of red (firefighters), blue (law enforcement), and green (military), we will highlight their service one more night.
To sponsor one hero is a donation of $25. For your donation, you will receive a Unity Print by Jason Bullard (6×18 inches) along with a Patriotism Certificate listing the name(s) of the hero(es) you placed a light for.
PLEASE HELP US PLACE LIGHTS FOR ALL 651 heroes! If you donate $100, you will receive a Unity Print with four names of heroes on your Patriotism Certificate! With sponsoring multiple names, we will pull from a list of several branches to give you names of firefighters, law enforcement, and military. Extra! Extra! In case you are saving the date to attend our event, there will be a Silent Memorial Parade (starting location to be determined) ending at the Milwaukee County War Memorial at 3pm. ALL of our events are free to the public!
