Heart is broken. Yesterday, Lynn Simmers, got her wings. She was similar to the things she loved–a safe haven lighthouse for friends, an adventure-seeking sea turtle, cat-shoes swing dancer, musical chairs custard companion, dolphin-bragging beach photos beauty, Florida sunshine generous heart, and the only person I know who can sell one hot dog for $30 to raise funds for the troops…she was with me the day we decided to start On Purpose Journey Inc. (Mission Soldier Adoption) almost ten years ago and has donated every month since day 1 due to her love for military, veterans, combat wounded warriors, law enforcement, and firefighters. She will be greatly missed to say the least.
Her parents are going to have a life celebration at their home in Florida on Saturday and collect down there for a the local Turtle Foundation. Her dad asked that we collect here for On Purpose Journey Inc (www.OnPurposeJourney.com/donate)., since these are the 2 charities she donated to every month.
I’m placing a memorial for Lynn in the MKE journal–please email a comment with your one-word description of Lynn, and I’ll add it to her memorial ad–DEADLINE April 4th.
Because her friends are all over the country, we decided to declare this week, April 2nd-April 9th, “LYNN’s DESSERT WEEK MEMORIAL.” Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to choose your favorite dessert(s) in Lynn’s memory. Take a photo of this dessert, and post the photo as a toast to her awesomeness. This provides time to complete your mission, and to potentially have seven days of dessert…for Lynn 🙂
Recap:
1. Our friend got her wings.
2. Donate to make a difference if you’d like to honor her memory.
3. Send a word description for her memorial ad in Milwaukee Journal by April 4th.
4. Eat dessert, toast Lynn, take a pic, and post it
With Gratitude,
~Mollie
