From Baghdad, Iraq. Hi…I hope this card finds you in good health and doing well. We received the care packages you recently sent and we wanted to say, ‘Thank You!” The Christmas music CD’s, greeting cards, candy, and the stuffed bear and stocking were great. We passed out the CD’s and candy. The bear and stocking hang in the office. The cards were dropped off at the chapel for people to pick up and use. Take care and stay safe. Thanks for your support. From Camp Victory, Baghdad, Iraq. –Michael
Dear Mollie & Crew,
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! Obviously it won’t be snowing here! Then again, with all the global changes in weather…it just might! It has become cool and rainy in our oven though. A nice change; I welcome it-everything but the constant mud on my boots which leads to incessant sweeping. My-we all have our burdens don’t we? (written with a smile on my lips!) The latest care package of candy and Christmas music was received with gratitude and high spirits. As one who likes to play with origami-I am folding advent calendars for a few select people and the candy is perfect for putting in the delicate little pouches. Thanksgiving was uneventful for us, but in our line of work that is a blessing. Our company each took a 2 hour shift throughout the day to serve us an excellent holiday meal and the decorative displays in the dining facility were stellar. I ate with a small tight knit group and finished the evening off with hot cocoa and a phone call with my husband! My boss gave our whole department the day off-a super sweet gift for us.
As a group-we’ll be pulling out and heading home just after the holidays. That said-I won’t be here to benefit from your ongoing generosity when the next round of packages are sent! Please pass the next one onto another soldier serving our great nation. I’m trying not to be too focused on home-as for the moment I’m here-and all we really have is right now, but I must admit-I’m ever aware of my readiness to be there. I miss my Husky and his beautiful singing, the warmth and strength of my husbands arms holding me, and the innocence of snuggles with my children. Funny how a year can be long and not so long all at once. I have truly enjoyed your stories. Your letters were always lighthearted and full of encouragement. And your insights a breath of fresh air. Thank you ever so much for your Christian love and for being you. God Bless and Happy Holidays, Tammy. An American Soldier, A Teacher, A Best Friend, A Mom, A Daughter, A wife, A Sister
Just a note to wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. We will be heading back home soon. –Father John
Thank you so much for the words of encouragement, they mean so much to me. I hope and pray that your holiday season was a joyous one, continue to keep us lifted up in prayer, during this time of the year is when many of our soldiers get lonely and depressed when they are away from their families. Thank you for all that you do. –Catrina
Thank you for taking the time to send another care package over all of the snacks and stuff will be welcomed with open arms. The letters from the kiddos were a nice touch too. It is always interesting to read about what the like to do and how school is going for them.
I hope that you had a Merry Christmas and have a great New Year. Ours was good since we had the majority of the day off to relax. It is a little rough being away from home during the holiday season but we manage. It helps to have a great network of folks here to pass the days.
I bet you all got to enjoy a very white Christmas. The weather here is still rather nice with highs around 40 through the day and down to about -2 in the evenings. Have a great week!! -Jason
Thank you so much for the gifts. Actually, thank you for the love. I don’t receive packages that often so when Paul receives a package from you he shares it with us. Thank you so much. It makes me feel loved and special. -Ashley
A special message from Ashley overseas to Alyna for the pictures you drew: Thank you for the pretty pictures! They made me feel very special. What do you want for Christmas? I know what I want. I want everyone in America to have a great time with their family. I bet you will be eating good food! Save some for me. You take care and listen to your parents. Oh, and eat your veggies. -Ashley
A special message from Kristine overseas to Julia Graff: Thank you so much for the candy. It was really tasty! I was inspired by your drawings. -Kristine
It is wonderful we are able to support our guys & gals overseas fighting for our beautiful country. We are delighted when they are able to send an email or note letting us know they received the packages. They are all amazing hearts.
Thank You For Making This Mission Possible!! We are so blessed to have such wonderful donations to send to the Soldiers! Your generosity and kindness are greatly appreciated—here and overseas :>)
